I'm Sarah Francis, a native English speaker, fluent in Russian and Thai, with over twenty years' translation experience under my belt. Now based in the UK, I've worked for multinational corporations in Russia and Thailand and have handled a variety of texts in both languages. I'm also a careful and skilled editor and proofreader.
I have a first class Bachelor's degree in Russian with Spanish from the University of Exeter, a Diploma in Translation (Russian to English) from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, a Master's degree in Forensic Linguistics from Aston University and a certificate in Thai from the Thai Ministry of Education.
My career highlights include assisting in setting up the HR function for the new manufacturing facility of a multinational confectionery manufacturer in rural Russia, managing two key Russian accounts for an engineering firm in the UK, and, more recently, working for nine years in-house for a 'Big 4' professional services firm in Bangkok, where I headed up the internal editing team, providing editing, translation and language training services to staff in four Southeast Asian countries.
All of these positions allowed me to hone my language and translation skills and exposed me to a wide variety of financial, commercial and legal texts. They also required the ability to meet tight client deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
I'm a professional, reliable and careful translator, and will never take on a job for which I'm not qualified or accept a deadline that I'm not able to meet.
